Job Description
PACU Registered Nurse (RN)

The ideal candidate will deliver comprehensive nursing care in the PACU, focusing on patient assessment, intervention, and education. This role requires the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care while ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

Essential Functions

• Provide quality care by adhering to professional standards and healthcare organization policies.
• Maintain collaborative relationships among healthcare team members.
• Ensure a safe, secure, and healthy patient care environment by adhering to infection-control and medication administration protocols.
• Document patient care services accurately in patient and department records.
• Monitor, record, and report changes in patients' conditions to the appropriate healthcare team members.
• Consult with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
• Modify treatment plans based on patients' responses and conditions.
• Provide health education and disease prevention guidance to patients and families.
• Administer medications, wound care, and monitor patients for reactions or side effects.
• Prepare patients for exams and assist as needed, ensuring clear communication of procedures to alleviate apprehension.
• Demonstrate IV therapy competency, including care for central lines.
• Recognize and act appropriately in emergency situations.
• Supervise and delegate duties to Unlicensed Assistive Personnel and other ancillary staff as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with safety practices and regulatory accreditation standards.
