Volunteer Treasurer – Elkridge Assembly Rooms, Inc.

The Elkridge Assembly Rooms, Inc. is seeking a volunteer Treasurer to support our historic community organization and help ensure its long-term sustainability.

The Treasurer works collaboratively with the Board to maintain the organization’s financial records, monitor income and expenses, and assist with basic nonprofit compliance filings with the State of Maryland and the IRS. This is a great opportunity for someone who is organized, dependable, and interested in supporting local history, arts, and community programming.

Prior nonprofit or accounting experience is not required. We are looking for someone with basic financial literacy who is comfortable learning, asking questions, and working with spreadsheets and financial information.

Responsibilities Include

• Maintaining basic financial records and bookkeeping
• Tracking income, expenses, and reimbursements
• Providing simple financial updates to the Board
• Assisting with annual nonprofit filings and compliance requirements
• Coordinating with tax preparers or accountants as needed
• Supporting budgeting and financial planning discussions

Board meetings are approximately every other month. This is a meaningful opportunity to help preserve and sustain one of Howard County’s historic community gathering spaces while contributing skills that directly support the organization’s mission.
