Registered Nurse (RN) - Obstetrics


Virtus Healthcare Staffing is searching for a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our partner's Obstetrics unit in Santa Rosa, CA. This is a truly rewarding opportunity for a professional to play a vital role in supporting new and expecting families. We are offering a hiring bonus of $3,000 for eligible external hires who meet all required qualifications.


Position Overview


As an RN in the Obstetrics unit, you will be a vital member of a compassionate team, providing expert, patient-centered care throughout the entire childbirth journey. Your responsibilities will span from assisting with labor and delivery to providing essential postpartum care and education for both mothers and newborns. This position requires a professional with strong clinical skills and a deep commitment to ensuring a safe and positive experience for every family.


Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to expectant mothers and newborns throughout the labor, delivery, and postpartum stages.
• Monitor fetal heart rate and maternal vital signs, reporting any changes to the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians and midwives, to develop and implement care plans.
• Educate new parents on newborn care, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation.

Qualifications

• Required Qualifications:
  
  
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • A California Registered Nurse License is required upon hire.
  • A National Provider BLS from the American Heart Association is required upon hire.
  • A National Provider NRP from the American Academy of Pediatrics is required upon hire.
  • A minimum of 1 year of nursing experience is required.
