Alphabets Montessori School is seeking a passionate and qualified Lead Montessori Teacher for our Primary (36) classroom . The Lead Teacher will create a prepared Montessori environment that supports the social, emotional, and academic development of children ages 36 while meeting Maryland child care licensing standards. Responsibilities
- Implement an authentic Montessori curriculum for children ages 36
- Prepare and maintain a structured, engaging Montessori classroom environment
- Observe, document, and assess each childs developmental progress
- Develop individualized learning plans based on observation and assessment
- Guide childrens behavior using positive guidance and Montessori principles
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and classroom support staff
- Maintain consistent communication with families regarding student progress
- Ensure health, safety, and supervision standards are met at all times
- Complete lesson plans, progress reports, and required classroom documentation
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and program improvement initiatives
- Support smooth transitions for children entering and exiting the Primary program
- Associates Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field
- Meets Maryland Lead Teacher qualification requirements
- Montessori Certification (AMI, AMS, or equivalent) preferred
- Minimum 12 years of classroom experience with children ages 36 preferred
- Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
- Must pass background check and health clearance as required by Maryland licensing
