Security Officer

Location: Glenwood Springs, CO 81601 Employment Type: Part-Time Position Type: Unarmed Security Officer Pay: Up to $18.50 per hour Schedule: Multi-Shift Join Our Team Citadel Security USA seeks a reliable and adaptable Flex Security Officer to support staffing needs across multiple client locations in the Glenwood Springs, Rifle, and Grand Junction areas. This position is designed to provide coverage for open shifts, employee absences, vacation schedules, and other operational needs. Because assignments may vary from week to week, successful candidates must be comfortable working at different properties, adjusting to new environments, and learning multiple site procedures. This role is an excellent fit for individuals who value schedule flexibility, enjoy variety in their workday, and can maintain professionalism while working independently. Key Responsibilities Site Coverage & Patrol Duties Provide security coverage at various client locations assigned Fill open shifts resulting from call-offs, vacations, staffing shortages, or special coverage requests Conduct interior and exterior patrols based on site requirements Monitor property conditions and report safety or security concerns Maintain a visible security presence to help deter unauthorized activity Observation & Reporting Observe and document unusual activity, property damage, or policy violations Prepare accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation Report hazards, suspicious behavior, or operational concerns promptly Maintain detailed records in accordance with company procedures Customer Service & Communication Interact professionally with clients, employees, tenants, visitors, and members of the public Provide directions, information, or assistance when appropriate Maintain regular communication with supervisors and operations personnel Follow site-specific instructions and post orders at each assignment Compliance & Professional Standards Follow all company policies and client requirements Arrive on time and prepare for scheduled assignments Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude Adapt quickly to different sites, procedures, and work environments Minimum Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age Ability to work a flexible schedule, including short-notice assignments when needed Reliable transportation for travel between assigned locations Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Dependable attendance and professional work ethic Ability to pass any required background screening Preferred Qualifications Previous security, patrol, customer service, or public-facing experience Experience working at multiple locations or in flexible coverage roles Strong observation and problem-solving abilities Familiarity with report writing and incident documentation Work Environment Assignments may take place at commercial, residential, industrial, healthcare, or mixed-use properties Combination of indoor and outdoor responsibilities Standing, walking, and periodic patrol activity required Travel between Glenwood Springs, Rifle, and Grand Junction may be required Schedule and work locations may vary based on operational needs What We Offer Competitive hourly compensation Flexible scheduling opportunities Exposure to a variety of security assignments and client locations Paid training and onboarding support Opportunities for advancement within Citadel Security USA Supportive operations and leadership team Equal Opportunity Employer Citadel Security USA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
