• Phone Consults: As clinically appropriate

FACILITY INFORMATION

• No. of Beds in Department: 243 Hospital Beds
• Office Equipment Available: Fully equipped emergency department
• Support Staff Available: NP/PA coverage 10:00a–6:00p, 2:00p–10:00p, and 4:00p–2:00a
• Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE

• Additional Privileging: Cross-credentialing required at affiliated facilities in Harlingen, Weslaco, and Brownsville

REQUIRED PROCEDURES

• Evaluation and management of emergency medical conditions
• Trauma assessment and stabilization
• Airway management and resuscitation procedures
• Laceration repair and minor surgical procedures

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Board: Board Certified in ABEM or ABOEM, or Board Eligible with ATLS and PALS
• Certifications: ATLS and PALS required if Board Eligible
• Experience: Emergency Department clinical experience required
• Other Qualifications: Must meet hospital credentialing standards

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients of all ages
• Perform assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and procedures as clinically indicated
• Manage trauma and high-acuity cases in a Level III trauma center
• Collaborate with specialty services and hospital staff for patient disposition
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation within Cerner EMR
