We are seeking a Software Engineer (Ruby) to join a high-impact backend engineering team focused on building and enhancing a large-scale invoicing platform. This system powers transaction receipts and handles complex calculations across pricing, taxes, discounts, and order-level data. Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to backend development efforts using Ruby on Rails
• Support ongoing initiatives related to invoicing and transaction processing systems
• Work on isolated and modular tasks to support team velocity while minimizing dependencies on core workflows
• Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot issues, identify bugs, and implement effective solutions
• Assist in the development of features related to: Pricing calculations, Tax handling across multiple jurisdictions, Discounts, memberships, and promotional logic
• Participate in debugging, logging, and system observability improvements
• Ensure code quality, performance, and reliability through best practices

What You'll Work On

• A complex invoicing platform responsible for generating accurate order receipts
• Systems that aggregate data from multiple services to calculate totals
• Edge-case scenarios involving Tax variations across regions, Payment types (e.g., benefits-based payments), Item substitutions and order changes
• Ongoing system rewrite efforts, improving scalability and maintainability

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience in software engineering
• Strong experience with Ruby on Rails
• Proven ability to independently solve problems and navigate ambiguity
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
• Self-starter mindset with the ability to take initiative and seek guidance when needed
