If you have answered yes to the above, then this could be the role for you.We are seeking Staff Accountant II who can work out of our Urbandale, IA officeWhat Can You Expect?A dynamic culture and collaborative team environment.Excellent training plan to set you up for success.Opportunities to make an impact in a role where no two days are the same.Support the continued growth of our Global Accounting Operations team.Engage with a global team while maintaining high standards of governance.We Will Count On You To:Serve as a subject matter expert on company revenue recognition policies in accordance with ASC 606.Review contracts for validity and accuracy.Produce and maintain daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly reports.Review accruals, deferrals, and journal entry support.Assist with timely and accurate monthly and quarterly close and financial statement delivery.Lead projects and provide guidance to less experienced colleagues.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and senior management.Ensure compliance with corporate policies, SOX procedures, US GAAP, and local statutory regulations.Play a lead role in continuous improvement of business processes and expansion of global processes.Maintain working files, including formulas, macros, and Power BI dashboards.Assist with ad-hoc tasks, projects, and initiatives as required.What You Need To Have:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent experience.Intermediate to advanced proficiency with MS Excel, including pivot tables.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.Prior accounting experience (2+ years preferred), including experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.Experience working with internal or external audits and implementing process improvements.Effective problem-solving and analytical skills.Excellent time management skills.What Makes You Stand Out:Prior experience in the insurance industry.Revenue recognition experience in accordance with ASC 606.Experience with GL account reconciliation and journal entries.Previous experience in a similar environment.Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is a plus.What's In It For You?Competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package starting on day one (medical, dental, vision, STD/LTD, life insurance, retirement savings plan).Generous paid vacation time, sick leave, floating holidays, and one paid corporate volunteer day.Opportunities for long-term growth within the company, including tuition reimbursement and participation in our Employee Stock Purchase Plan.Access to Employee Resource Groups for networking, mentoring, and volunteer opportunities.
