Registered Nurse (RN) - Mother/BabyLocation: Overland Park, KSUnit Description:Number of Beds: 26Patient Ratios: 6-8 patientsStaffing: RNs, limited use of PCTs during short staffing, no unit secretaryType of Equipment: Vitals machines, glucometers, computers, TCB, postpartum suppliesDocumentation System: CPN, MeditechScheduling: Requires availability for varied staffing needs, including two hard-to-fill shifts weekly and one full weekend every third weekFloating Policy: Limited to women's services unless cross-trained in pediatrics or NICUResponsibilities:Recognizing workflow processes, policies, and procedures within the postpartum unitAssessing and identifying risk factors related to sepsis, venous thromboembolism (VTE/DVT), suicide, and pressure injuriesProviding discharge education and assessments, including pain managementPrioritizing patient care based on acuity and needsUtilizing AIDET and BSSR methods to enhance patient experienceQualifications:Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferredCurrent certifications required: BLS, NRPDuties & Procedures:Key duties include performing circumcisions and attending births while caring for postpartum patients in various stages of recovery.Dress Code: Black scrub pants and Caribbean blue scrub top, vest, or jacket.Why Join Us?Consider this opportunity to work in a supportive environment with experienced staff.
