Job Opportunity – Pediatric PACU Registered Nurse – Wisconsin

Start Date: October 26, 2026

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Schedule: Evening/Night shifts with 8, 10, or 12-hour options. Shift times include 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM or 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM with flexibility. Monday through Friday OR Sunday through Thursday schedules available with no on-call requirements.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of pediatric PACU experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Wisconsin RN license or Compact RN license (pending Wisconsin license accepted with submission)
• BLS and PALS certifications from American Heart Association (AHA) only
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Must successfully pass telemetry examination prior to assignment start (80% passing score with specific criteria for lethal rhythm identification)
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility location
• Prior charge experience preferred

Clinical Competencies:

• Phase I and Phase II PACU recovery experience
• Management of pediatric patients across all age groups (neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults)
• Airway management including extubation, oral/nasal airway placement
• Central line and arterial line management
• Blood product administration and IV vasopressor management
• Care of ventilated patients and external ventricular drain management
• Post-operative care for varied surgical specialties including neuro, ortho/spine, ENT, general surgery, and robotics
• PCA pump management and pain assessment protocols
• Dysrhythmia recognition and emergency medication administration

Facility Details:

• Daily census of approximately 25 patients
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• State-of-the-art pediatric facility with nationally recognized specialists
• Collaborative environment with university-affiliated medical professionals
• Floating to other units required as needed

Vaccination Requirements:

• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• COVID-19 vaccine not required
