Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (Surgical Services)

167-bed acute care hospital

Level II Trauma Center

Level III NICU & Maternity Center

Primary Stroke Center

19 Operating Rooms (split between two locations within the hospital)

Utilizes advanced surgical technology including Da Vinci XI Robotics

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with strong circulating skills and robotics experience. This role requires a highly adaptable nurse comfortable working across a wide variety of surgical specialties in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Circulate in the Operating Room for a variety of surgical procedures
• Assist with intubation/extubation and patient positioning
• Support robotic-assisted surgeries (Da Vinci XI experience required)
• Maintain sterile environment and ensure patient safety
• Assist with ancillary tasks such as:
• Room turnover and cleaning
• Checking outdates
• Stocking and organizing supplies

Unit Overview

• 19 OR suites across two locations within the same facility
• May float between Main OR and East Side OR (same building)
• Rare floating to offsite surgery center (West Side)
• Collaborative environment with anesthesia and surgical teams
• 1:1 patient care ratio

Case Types

Candidates must have experience in a wide range of surgical procedures, including:

• General Surgery
• Robotics (required)
• ENT (sinus, tonsils, thyroid, ear procedures)
• Orthopedics & Neurosurgery
• Urology
• Bariatrics
• Plastics
• Endovascular & minor vascular procedures
• Ophthalmology and cardiac cases

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience
• First-time travelers: Accepted upon review

Certifications:

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - Required

Required Skills

• Strong circulating experience
• Hands-on experience with Da Vinci XI robotic systems
• Ability to assist with airway management and positioning
• Experience in high-priority specialties:
• ENT
• Endovascular
• Minor vascular
• Robotics

Support & Technology

• EMR: EPIC
• IV Pumps: Alaris
• Medication Dispensing: Pyxis
• Monitoring: Managed by anesthesia team
• Charge nurse support available (primarily weekdays)

Orientation

• 2 shifts (8 hours each) of unit-based orientation

Scheduling

• Shift times: As per assignment
• No on-call requirements
• No weekend requirements (primary expectation)
• May be required to work some holidays
• RTO: Maximum of 4 days (manager approval required)

• Floating: Between Main OR & East Side OR (same building)
• Scrubs: Provided (procedural attire)
