Radiation Therapist Opportunity

Join a fast-paced hospital team in Winchester, VA where your expertise as a Radiation Therapist will directly impact lives. From administering targeted treatments to collaborating with oncology professionals, you will play a vital role in helping patients fight cancer with confidence and compassion. Provide daily care of cancer patients, perform simulations, assist with treatment planning and dosimetry, and participate in brachytherapy procedures as required.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Radiation Therapy from an accredited program.

• ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy.

• Valid VA state Radiation Therapy license or VA temporary license with pending full VA license. Include license or status with application.

• BLS (AHA only) certification.

• Minimum 2 years' experience as a Radiation Therapist.

• Experience with IMRT, 3-D setup in CT, immobilization device fabrication, tumor localization, and basic dosimetry.

• Experience working with oncology teams, including interfacing with physicists and dosimetrists, and documenting treatment doses accurately in an electronic charting system (EPIC preferred).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience participating in brachytherapy procedures.

• Experience providing clinical instruction to radiation therapy students.

Assignment Details

• Shift Hours: Mon-Fri 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36.
• Weekend Requirements: None.
• On-Call Requirements: None.
• EMR: EPIC.

Impacting Patient Care

Provide accurate interpretation and delivery of radiation treatments per physician prescription. Prepare rooms and equipment, verify patient identification and treatment areas, maintain patient markings and immobilization, monitor patients during treatment, document treatments in the electronic chart, and assist with emergency care when necessary. Act as a liaison with supportive care providers and maintain radiation safety measures for patients and staff.
