Supply Management Specialist
Drug Enforcement Administration
This position is located in the DEA, Operations Division (OC), Academy Operations Section, Logistics and Acquisition Support Unit. This position(s) primary purpose is to assist the Support Services Supervisor in developing, reviewing, evaluating, recommending, and implementing an effective supply management program within DEA Headquarters and foreign office locations. In addition, the different training programs require a broad range of specialized and technical equipment. Applicants applying for the GS-11 must meet one of the following requirements: A. Have at least one full year of specialized experience that is at least equivalent to work performed at the GS-09 grade level. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following:
- Receives, stores and issues supplies, equipment and materials
- Helps review invoices and confirms items/services were received
- Assists in preparing basic reports or documentation related to contracts
- Maintains organized contract files and records
- Helps with ordering supplies
- Performs routine inspections of warehouse stock and reports shortages, damaged items or discrepancies
- Assists with shipping and receiving, including domestic and international shipments
- Supports warehouse operations, including equipment upkeep and proper storage
- Helps prepare reports, procedures and basic documentation for logistic operations
- Maintains records for equipment, inventory and shipments
- Tracks deliverables and helps ensure contract requirements are met
- Assists in developing local operating procedures and recommends improvements to supply processes
