OPS ADVANCED PRACTICE REGISTERED NURSE

Your specific responsibilities include assessing, evaluating, and managing patients in accordance with current APRN professional practice standards, evidence-based standards, and medical treatment guidelines, and in consultation with a supervising physician when indicated. You will document all observations and actions accurately and in accordance with program guidelines, including prescribed timelines. You will collect data pursuant to and evaluate patient complaints, medical histories, and physical findings. You will order diagnostic laboratory tests for evaluation and management of patients and interpret and evaluate laboratory results. You will provide preventive health care services in relation to programmatic guidelines. You will prescribe medication and accurately document medication in the electronic medical record. You will initiate and manage contraceptive methods for Family Planning patients after evaluation, history, laboratory tests, physical assessment and examination. You will educate and counsel patients regarding use of oral contraceptives, Depo-Provera injections, natural family planning, and long-acting reversible contraceptives.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities include completion of a nursing graduate program in family practice, competency in Microsoft Office and assorted software, competency in the use of an EMR for "real time" documentation, competency in the use of equipment and supplies related to the position, ability to provide patient/family centered care, ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments, ability to communicate effectively, and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Qualifications include licensure in the State of Florida as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, certification as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in accordance with Chapter 464, Florida Statutes, and in accordance with Rule 64B9, Florida Administrative Code, a master's degree, one year clinical experience as an APRN, and willingness to travel to multiple clinic sites in Nassau County as needed for coverage. Preferred qualifications include two or more years' clinical experience as an APRN, experience in Women's Health, Family Practice or Infectious Disease, and current CPR certification.
