Your Experience & Skills Veterinary Technician licensure preferred 1‑2 years of clinical veterinary experience required Emergency, ICU, or specialty experience preferred Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an AVMA‑accredited Veterinary Technology Program preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience Strong communication and client education skills Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced specialty and emergency environment Experience with patient monitoring, IV catheter placement, blood collection, laboratory diagnostics, medication administration, and advanced nursing care preferred Experience with hospitalized and critically ill patients preferred Ability to prioritize multiple cases while maintaining a high standard of patient care About Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists Miami Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists Miami is looking for an Emergency & ICU Veterinary Technician to join our growing team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community. Our hospital offers advanced specialty services including: Emergency & Critical Care Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Internal Medicine Surgery Our Emergency and ICU teams provide around‑the‑clock care for critically ill, injured, and hospitalized patients. Working closely with our specialty services, the department delivers advanced diagnostics, intensive monitoring, and life‑saving treatments to patients with complex medical needs. You’re Willing and Able To Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients Assist the Emergency and ICU teams to maximize productivity and maintain efficient patient flow Perform patient assessments, triage, IV catheter placement, blood collection, and treatment preparation Monitor hospitalized and critically ill patients, recognizing and communicating changes in patient status Administer medications, fluids, blood products, and treatments as directed by veterinarians and within Florida Veterinary Practice Act guidelines Operate and monitor medical equipment including infusion pumps, oxygen therapy devices, ECG monitors, and other critical care equipment Assist with emergency procedures, CPR, and stabilization efforts Communicate with clients regarding treatment plans, patient updates, medications, and Thrive Membership options Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records utilizing hospital practice management systems Obtain relevant patient histories and client information Use safe restraint techniques and uphold hospital safety protocols Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary treatment and ICU areas Mentor and support fellow team members while contributing to a positive hospital culture You’ll Grow with Us Here, you can grow your career through access to comprehensive learning and development programs.
