Salary Range $68,500 - $72,000 ($32.93-$34.61/hourly) Depending on Qualifications Pay Basis Monthly Position Status Regular full-time Location Position End Date (if temporary) Posting Open Date 12/09/2025 Open Until Filled Yes Desired Start Date 01/05/2026 Job Summary Oversees the daily maintenance, operation, and repair of the campus building automation system. Monitors and troubleshoots system alarms. Inspect and improves the efficiency in equipment. Inspects work performed by contractors and provides staff training. Assigns work schedules to utilities station operators. Coordinates utilities operations with Energy Plant. Coordinates with other department for campus shut downs. Reviews mechanical system drawings and specifications. Assists EMS Supervisor with annual maintenance contracts and warranties. Maintains a flexible work schedule including being on-call. Minimum Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED with 5 years of experience managing building automation systems or closely related experience with knowledge in HVAC equipment, water and/or air flows/air balances. Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Driver’s license and an acceptable driving record. Preferred Education and Experience Vocational/Technical Diploma, some College/Associate’s Degree, or Bachelor’s Degree Building Automation Systems Certification Other Qualifications To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Monitor and troubleshoot system alarms. Integration of programming. Assist and train all EMS technicians. Work with Siemens on system upgrades and troubleshooting. Coordinate with other department for campus shut downs. Assist in building commissioning and mechanical systems balancing. Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Driver’s License and an acceptable driver rating as established in Policy: UTS157 Section 2.5.4.
