This role has supervisory and decision-making power to assign tasks to team members and respond to guest complaints. Setting shift goals and aligning processes and tasks to these goals is critical to success in this role. The Shift Leader ensures their team is meeting benchmarks for success, takes care of issues with equipment, and is responsible for closing and opening tasks. As a leader in the restaurant, the Shift Leader continuously trains and coaches team members to further develop skills and ensure procedural standards are met.Why work at Zax?FREE Meals On Shift & 50% Off Meals Off ShiftFlexible ScheduleEarly Access to PayOpportunities to AdvanceBenefitsRecognition ProgramEmployee Referral Program401(k) With Employer Match (additional eligibility requirements)Additional Benefits for Full-Time Team MembersMedical, Dental, and Vision InsuranceShort and Long-Term DisabilityEmployer-Paid Life InsuranceJob Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe individual in this position is expected to engage in the following work-related activities:Complete all training requirements including:Zaxbys Shift Leader Development PlanFood Safety CertificationAny additional training required by Zax LLCCreate a culture of high-performance and train and coach team members to meet all company standardsMentor, coach, and develop team members and communicate performance concerns to your General ManagerPrioritize the guest and team member experience and resolve complaints and concerns in a friendly and respectful mannerCreate and maintain a positive culture and healthy team morale through recognition and leading by exampleCommunicate shift goals and motivate team members to meet goals and perform to their highest ability levelDelegate tasks to team members and supervise performance during a shiftMaintain operational standards and ensure compliance with all Zaxby’s Franchising LLC and Zax LLC guidelines, policies, and proceduresEnsure service, product quality, and cleanliness standards are consistently upheldEnhance guest experiences by ensuring that team members satisfy and exceed guest expectationsReceive and reconcile truck deliveries, ensure product is properly stocked, and complete daily inventory countsManage food production and quality by monitoring prepping, cooking, and holding processes and taking corrective action when necessaryTrack food safety and quality throughout the shift and ensure guests receive accurate orders that meet company standards and guest satisfactionPlan shift duties and ensure opening and closing duties are completeCollaborate with management team to develop goals and report back to management on goal progressEnsure processes, policies, and procedures are properly followed throughout daily operationsFollow company cash management policiesMaintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws and guidelinesUtilize management tools and keep neat, accurate, and current recordsMaintain an attitude of flexibility that allows performance above and beyond the parameters of this position descriptionEnsure the team works safely and follows all safety guidelines and proceduresImmediately report all human resources and risk management concerns to your General Manager and District ManagerEscalate other concerns to your supervisor when appropriateAll other duties necessary to ensure restaurant operations function properlyJob QualificationsThe following requirements must be met to qualify for this position.Must be 18 years of age or olderMust have reliable transportationAbility to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidaysPart-time: Available to work 9 to 28 hours per weekFull-time: Available to work 32 to 40 hours per weekSuccessful completion of background checkDemonstrates leadership qualities, organizational skills, and ability to interact cooperatively with othersFollows company standards and local laws with regards to employee time punchesStrong interpersonal and verbal communication skillsTechnological savvy; knowledge of required company software and toolsStrong problem-solving skillsAbility to multi-task and manage time effectivelyConflict resolution skillsAbility to make sound judgements and decisions which align with company standards and valuesServant leader mindsetLeadership experience preferredCapability RequirementsThe following capabilities are required to perform the essential functions of this position.
