Overview
Cherry Bekaert Recruiting & Staffing is partnered with a well-established organization in the Washington, DC area seeking a Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations. This role will focus on core operational accounting functions and provide exposure to general ledger activity, reconciliations, close support, and financial reporting processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate accounting records
• Perform account reconciliations and research discrepancies
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger support as needed
• Support month-end close and reporting activities
• Maintain schedules and documentation for audits and internal reporting
• Help improve accounting processes and reporting accuracy
• Support ad hoc accounting projects as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 1-3 years of accounting experience preferred
• Strong foundation in core operational accounting functions
• CPA preferred
• Experience with large ERP systems such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Unanet, Costpoint, or similar is preferred
• Proficiency in Excel and strong organizational skills required
• Detail-oriented with a willingness to learn and grow
