Job Functions and Responsibilities
1.Coordinate and allocate millwork via Ship Lists in the warehouse and ready for shipment by wrapping or other means to ensure its protected against damage. Instruct others on their daily tasks through the Dept’s Supervisor.
2. Have excellent PC skills including Excel, word and email proficiency.
3Organize shipping bay by delivery/ or subset of rooms etc.
4.Monitor ship dates of materials and ensure materials are ready to be shipped.
5.Operate forklift only after proper training and approval by the Shop Foreman.
6.Build crates and other vessels for shipping millwork.
7.Unload and load trucks, as well as prepare millwork for transport.
8.Produce accurate bills of lading that are coordinated to the Ship lists and job specific schedules.
9.Maintain accurate shipping files and paper BOL’s from site.
10.Understand best shipping methods to be used in a number of situations.
11.Perform general maintenance throughout the shop (changing light bulbs, emptying dust collector bags, etc.). typically, if Shipping is slow.
12.Own tools as required by the Job Description tool list.
