This position plays an important role in providing accurate and timely laboratory results that help our clinical team make informed decisions about patient care.Responsibilities include:Performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures accurately and efficientlyAnalyzing and interpreting laboratory results according to established proceduresFollowing quality control and quality assurance standardsOperating, maintaining, and troubleshooting laboratory instrumentationAdhering to established laboratory policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirementsWorking collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare teamContributing to a safe, respectful, and patient-focused laboratory environmentPosition DetailsPosition: MLT / MT / MLSDepartment: LaboratoryStatus: PRNLocation: Gateway Regional Medical Center2100 Madison AvenueGranite City, IL 62040Pay Range: $20.41-$38.56 per hourActual compensation is based on factors including education, experience, certifications, and relevant skills. Final compensation will be discussed with Human Resources based on the candidate's qualifications.Education RequirementsMLT CandidatesRequired qualifications include one of the following:Associate degree from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician program, including coursework in chemistry and biology; orAssociate degree of at least 60 semester hours from an accredited institution, including chemistry and biology, plus a 12-month structured curriculum in medical laboratory techniques; orAssociate degree or equivalent from an accredited institution, including chemistry and biology, plus graduation from a military medical laboratory training program of at least 12 months.MT/MLS CandidatesRequired qualifications include:Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution;Completion of an approved ASCP or equivalent certification pathway, or satisfaction of CLIA requirements for HEW certification; andCompletion of one year in an accredited laboratory training program.Certification RequirementsMLT CandidatesRequired: Eligibility for certification as an MLT (ASCP), MLT (AMT), HEW, CLS (NCA), or equivalent for individuals completing certification requirements in 2004 or later.Preferred: Registry within 12 months of completing school/training or equivalent education documentation in accordance with CLIA standards.Individuals who qualified for certification prior to December 31, 2003, are not required to maintain yearly certification.MT/MLS CandidatesRequired: Eligibility for certification as an MLS (ASCP), MT (AMT), HEW, CLS (NCA), or equivalent for individuals completing certification requirements in 2004 or later.Preferred: Certification within 12 months of completing school/training or equivalent education documentation in accordance with CLIA standards.Individuals who qualified for certification prior to December 31, 2003, are not required to maintain yearly certification.ExperiencePrevious laboratory experience preferredNew graduates are welcome to applyCandidates who bring strong technical skills, attention to detail, professionalism, and a commitment to quality patient care are encouraged to applyWhat We OfferAt Gateway Regional Medical Center, you'll have the opportunity to be part of a team that makes a meaningful difference in the lives of patients throughout our community.We offer:Flexible PRN employmentCompetitive hourly compensationPerformance -based incentivesRetirement savings plan with employer matchingSupportive and inclusive work environmentOpportunity to work alongside dedicated healthcare professionalsAn opportunity for both experienced laboratory professionals and new graduates to contribute their skills to patient careMake a Difference Behind the ScenesEvery accurate laboratory result can make a difference in a patient's care.
