Mental Health Technician

The Mental Health Tech provides direct care to children, adolescents, and adult patients with psychiatric disorders, to ensure the safety and well-being of the patients. MHTs have the primary responsibility for ensuring the patient's safety on the unit.

Job duties/responsibilities include:

• Patient Observation and Monitoring
• Facilitating Therapeutic Groups
• Conducting Searches and Securing Contraband
• Assisting with Daily Living Skills
• Patient Behavior and Milieu Management
• Documentation in the Patient Record

Qualifications:

• Ability to pass a Level 2 Background Investigation
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Two years experience working in a psychiatric setting
• Handle with Care, verbal de-escalation, and CPR training (may be acquired after hire)
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Teamwork

Hours: Day shift: 7 AM - 7 PM (rotating weekends required) / Night shift: 7 PM - 7 AM (rotating weekends required)

Must be available to attend the full hospital and departmental orientations (Week 1: M-F 8 AM - 5 PM)
