Mechanic

Position Summary The primary function of the mechanic is to ensure a vehicle operates at maximum efficiency. The mechanic must have knowledge of mechanics, computerized automotive systems, and the mechanical profiles and specifications of a variety of automobile/equipment makes, models, and years. He/she also needs an understanding of computerized repair and testing systems, and must have exceptional eye‑hand coordination, physical stamina, and skill with tools. The mechanic applies all of their knowledge and talent in several broad areas of responsibility – troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and service to operating staff members. Duties & Responsibilities Inspect belts, hoses, and mechanical systems to ensure proper operation. Perform lubrication, light service, electrical, and PM service. Validate equipment inspections to ensure safe operations and handling. Refer all heavy‑du‑ty repairs to the designated Repair Service Company. Maintain records of repairs performed and report to the Assistant. Work on a variety of makes, models, and equipment. Complete work and repair orders in a timely fashion. Basic Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of 2 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, or specialty lines equipment (large‑scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or Oil & Gas equipment) strongly preferred. Strong Microsoft Office skills. Ability to handle physical workload. Core Competencies Display trust and integrity and do the right thing. Physical Requirements Must be able to stand, bend, turn, squat, and use hands for 80% of the time. May work indoors or outdoors as required. Must have sufficient arm strength to use hand tools such as hammers and wrenches and frequently move mechanical equipment weighing over 50 pounds. Communicate solutions quickly when problems occur. Demonstrate a high degree of sound judgment. Estimated Compensation Range $25.00–$30.00 per hour. The range is an estimate made in good faith; actual pay may vary.
