Medical City Decatur – RN ICU Seasonal PRN Nights Seasonal PRN Nights 7 pm–7 am. Program runs September 20, 2026 – April 3, 2027. Compensation: $62 per hour plus applicable differentials. Job Summary and Qualifications The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high‑quality, patient‑centered care in accordance with the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive and compassionate care using established nursing models. The RN serves as an advocate for patients and families, supporting overall departmental performance. Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record promptly and thoroughly. Teaches patients/families/caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, status, treatment plan, medications, and side effects, translating complex terminology for clarity. Teaches patients/families/caregivers about non‑medicinal follow‑up measures such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention and lifestyle changes, preparing them for future self‑management. Manages evidence‑based practices and continuous process improvement initiatives to meet and exceed quality measures and enhance patient care. Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver a holistic patient treatment plan that promotes recovery. Program Requirements All seasonal RNs are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period. May be asked to float to another facility in close geography that has an emergent staffing need. Four (4) weekend shifts are required each 4‑week schedule period. During the 32‑week period, the employee is required to work two (2) holiday shifts defined by the Department Manager or designee. Seasonal Staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call‑off; hours are not guaranteed. Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for extra shift bonuses (D1/CND or D2/ECD). Registered nurses in the seasonal program will have one opportunity to pass the clinical competency evaluation. Current FT/PT & PRN employees are not eligible to join the seasonal program for 2026‑27 except for RNs that participated in the program the previous year. Current employees of HWS are not eligible for the seasonal program. Shifts may vary based on departmental needs. Qualifications Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date. Registered Nurse (RN). Associate degree in nursing or higher (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
