Registered Nurse – Surgical

Schedule: 40-hour, day, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, every other weekend and holiday

Assignment Details:

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: Contract Weeks

Requirements:

• Current MA RN license
• ACLS required
• PALS preferred
• 1 year Med/Surg experience preferred
• 1 year Telemetry experience preferred
• 1 year Pediatrics experience preferred

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Assess and reassess patient needs, and develop, implement, and evaluate care plans.
• Provide patient care according to established standards, protocols, and policies.
• Ensure patient dignity and promote positive self-regard through individualized care.
• Educate patients and families based on identified learning needs and readiness to learn.
• Collaborate on discharge planning with patients and families, incorporating necessary support systems.
• Delegate and supervise nursing interventions performed by others, ensuring safe and effective care.
• Document all pertinent information regarding patient care and therapeutic interventions accurately and in a timely manner.
• Proactively identify patient safety risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Administer medications and intravenous therapy in accordance with protocols and physician orders.
• Conduct ongoing assessments of patients, including evaluating pain management strategies.
• Recognize and report any deviations in patient progress to the physician promptly.
