General Election Campaign Staff

Based in San Joaquin, Stanislaus, and Merced Counties, CA

Where: Based in San Joaquin, Stanislaus, and Merced Counties
When: Sept 17 – Nov 3, 2026
Hours: 10-20 hours per week (including some evenings and Saturdays)
Pay: $25.50 per hour

About Us
The North Valley Labor Federation is a partnership of over 60 unions representing more than 100,000 union members in Merced, Mariposa, Stanislaus, Tuolumne, San Joaquin, and Calaveras Counties. Our mission is to grow and strengthen the labor movement and build power for working people in the North San Joaquin Valley.

Representation
This position is a union job covered by a collective bargaining agreement with PNWSU Local 209.

Job Description
The NVLF is hiring General Election Campaign Staff to work on our 2026 Primary election campaign.

Job duties may include the following:

  • Door-to-door canvassing
  • Phone banking (with possibility for remote work)
  • Text banking (with possibility for remote work)
  • Campus organizing (including voter registration and turnout)
  • Use basic technology necessary for canvassing, data logging, and communication
  • Attend and participate in (paid) training sessions
  • Volunteer outreach and recruitment

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will:

  • Embrace inclusionary principles and enjoy working with diverse groups of people
  • Understand and believe in the mission of the labor movement and basic principles of organizing
  • Have excellent verbal communication skills
  • Be self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Have experience in field mobilization (canvassing, phone banking, etc) or a strong desire to learn these skills
  • Have the ability to travel as needed to campaign locations
  • Maintain positive relationships with union and community leaders, volunteers, partner organizations, and candidates
  • Fluency in Spanish or other commonly spoken languages is a plus but not required
