English Language Teacher in Indianapolis

Join the Global LT community and help provide language lessons to business professionals and their families worldwide. We are hiring an English Language Teacher to provide in-person lessons to our client.

Job Information: 196151/199395  Two   Individual classes for an adult and a teenager

For the teenager

• Age: 13
• Availability: Thursday and Friday morning or late afternoon/evening 4 pm- 8 pm, Sunday 4 pm- 8 pm
• Lesson Location: Indianapolis, IN 46204 (near Whole Foods Market on 320 E Market St)
• Preferred start date: ASAP
• Lesson Frequency: 3x/4x a week (may reduce when lessons start)
• Lesson Duration: 1h 30 mins
• Current target language level: Beginner
• Language spoken at home: Mandarin
• Student’s language needs and goals: Family would like the child to be well prepared for school, to communicate confidently with classmates and teachers, and to succeed both socially and academically across all school subjects.

For the adult

• Student would like to take hybrid lessons- face-to-face and online.
• Availability: Weekdays 5-6 pm (preferably Thursdays and Fridays when she will be working from home)
• Lesson Location: Indianapolis, IN 46204 (near Whole Foods Market on 320 E Market St)
• Preferred start date: ASAP
• Lesson Frequency: 2x a week
• Lesson Duration: 1h
• Current target language level: High Intermediate
• Language spoken at home: Mandarin
• Student’s language needs and goals: She would like to enhance her presentation skills, strengthen her day-to-day communication, and feel more comfortable and confident when speaking.

Responsibilities
• Design structured business-focused English lessons
• Focus on vocabulary building, pronunciation, and accent improvement
• Incorporate presentation skills and professional communication practice
• Introduce cultural insights relevant to professional environments
• Adapt lessons to the student’s interests and business goals

Qualifications
• To have a native or near-native proficiency in English
• To have a degree in education, TESOL, linguistics, or a related field
• To have a minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching ESL
• Experience working with children is a must, as well as experience teaching adults.
