The Brandeis Center for Jewish Studies seeks a dynamic administrator to work closely with the Lavine Family Director in advancing the Center's intellectual, strategic, and public mission. This individual will serve as the Director's principal administrative and strategic partner in developing cross-center collaboration, public engagement, academic programming, shared staffing and infrastructure, and new initiatives. This is a full-time Center-wide position. The administrator will work across the full portfolio of the Brandeis Center for Jewish Studies and will partner with the Director to develop and implement the Center's strategic vision through sustainable programs, partnerships, systems, and organizational structures. The hiring range is $97,100 - $109,400. This position is currently funded through December 2030. Responsibilities: Strategic Planning, Organizational Development, and Cross-Center Integration — 25% Work closely with the Director in implementing the Center's long-term direction, including its academic programming, organizational development, staffing structure, and cross-center initiatives. Identify opportunities for collaboration across Brandeis's Jewish Studies centers, institutes, departments, and programs; develop shared infrastructure and administrative systems; assess organizational needs; support long-term planning; and coordinate implementation of strategic priorities across multiple centers and University units. Academic and Public Programming — 25% Develop and coordinate lectures, conferences, seminars, public courses, workshops, visiting scholar programs, and other academic and public-facing initiatives. Work with faculty, staff, students, alumni, and external partners to create programming that reflects the Center's intellectual priorities and public mission. Operations, Human Resources, Personnel Supervision, Budgets, and Project Management — 25% Oversee the Center's day-to-day operations and administrative systems; manage project timelines and workflows; manage budgets and expenditures in collaboration with University offices; supervise administrative staff, student workers, vendors, and project personnel; oversee hiring and onboarding processes in partnership with Human Resources; support personnel management, performance evaluations, and other HR-related processes. Communications and External Relations — 15% Work with University Communications and other partners on the Center's website, newsletters, digital materials, public-facing content, and event promotion. Develop communication for the Center's work to academic, communal, alumni, and public audiences. Fundraising, Grants, and Donor Stewardship — 10% Support the Director in fundraising activities, donor stewardship, grant writing, foundation relations, proposal development, and reporting. Identify opportunities for external support for Center priorities and initiatives. Qualifications and Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required. Experience: 5+ years of demonstrated experience in academic, educational, communal, or nonprofit administration and programming. Demonstrated leadership experience supervising professional staff and managing complex academic or nonprofit operations. Excellent organizational, writing, communication, and project-management skills. Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, administrators, students, donors, alumni, and community partners. Experience building new initiatives, managing complex projects, working across institutional units, and supporting strategic planning is highly desirable.
