Job Summary Sorts, displays, removes, and replenishes fresh fruits and vegetables in the produce department. Maintains the overall environment of the department by providing assistance to Members through product knowledge and customer service. Ensures that all produce meets or exceeds company quality standards. Responsibilities Provide assistance to Members in the produce department, answering questions, recommending products, and sharing safe handling tips. Inspect, rotate, and store produce upon delivery, ensuring all received produce meets or exceeds company produce standards. Rotate produce on the sales floor to ensure optimal freshness and variety, keeping cases and display areas fully stocked and neat. Remove products that are no longer suitable for sale and maintain the produce reserve stock area by dating and rotating all back‑stock items. Follow established guidelines when disposing of damaged, spoiled, and/or expired products. Assist the Fresh Manager with inventory and order processing as needed. Cleans and sanitizes all produce equipment, display fixtures, and areas, including the produce cooler and refrigerated display cases. Generate signage for produce goods and perform price checks, ensuring all items are accurately priced and signed. Maintain all club policies and procedures and perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed. Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance. Qualifications Work experience in a produce department is preferred. Knowledge of fruit and vegetables, including seasonal items, is preferred. At least 18 years of age. Environmental Job Conditions Most of the time is spent moving about frequently on hard surfaces, bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and/or stooping. Frequently requires lifting objects up to 30 pounds, and may require lifting and moving heavier objects with assistance. Work is located in a comfortable indoor environment with frequent exposure to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, and/or coolers. Compensation In accordance with Pay Transparency requirements, the estimated compensation range for this position is $18.25 – $21.90 per hour.
