Job Title: RN Clinical Nurse Critical Care Profession: RN Specialty: Registered Nurse - Inpatient Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year ICU experience preferred, experience with hemodynamic monitoring, vasopressor management, ventilator knowledge, and CRRT preferred. License: Active RN license in Georgia or compact license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and pass dysrhythmia test required Description: The RN Clinical Nurse Critical Care is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers. They ensure individualized high-quality, safe patient care for patients, families, and significant others. The role is supported through the shared governance model and is administered by Nurse Managers and other leaders. The framework for practice is based on the Professional Practice Model and evidence-based practice and research. All RN Clinical Nurses Critical Care are expected to be licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold nursing practices outlined by the Professional Nurse Practice Act. They implement the Scope of Practice and the Code of Ethics Standards of the nursing profession. As a member of the patient services team, individuals must uphold the voice of the patient and follow system policies and procedures. Service excellence goals are a priority in this role. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: The RN performs the Nursing Process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, identifying outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Clinical care is delivered using evidence-based practice and analytical and critical thinking. Patient-centered care is provided in a manner that recognizes and adapts to cultural diversity. The RN will partner with patients and significant others through methods such as bedside shift reports and interdisciplinary rounds. Current clinical practice standards are adhered to in all care delivery. Teamwork and Collaboration: The RN coordinates the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care. Diverse and inclusive interdisciplinary communication methods are utilized during care delivery. Teamwork and collaboration are demonstrated in a fiscally responsible manner supporting recruitment and retention of healthcare team members. Participation in performance improvement activities and shared governance is expected from all team members. Professional Development and Initiative: Initial and ongoing professional competency assessments must be completed, along with required education. The RN serves as a preceptor and mentor for other nurses and disciplines, ensuring a qualified workforce for the future. Evidence-Based Practice and Research: Promotion of evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement in nursing is vital. The RN upholds all organizational policies, procedures, and clinical competencies. Participation in data collection and addressing practice questions through appropriate resources is required. Resources and Support: Proactive planning for patient care across the continuum is essential. Participation in developing protocols and procedures in collaboration with care managers and the healthcare team is encouraged. Effective use of human and material resources is supported. Other duties as assigned must be complied with, along with adherence to all relevant policies and standards.
