Medical Surgical Nurse

Provides comprehensive nursing care to adult and pediatric patients in an acute-care hospital setting. Responsible for delivering safe, compassionate, patient-centered care throughout the patient's hospitalization, from admission through discharge. Key Responsibilities: Assess patients' physical, emotional, and clinical needs and develop individualized nursing care plans. Administer medications, IV therapy, treatments, and other prescribed interventions in accordance with physician orders and hospital policies. Monitor patient conditions, recognize changes in status, and promptly communicate significant findings to physicians and the healthcare team. Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care to patients undergoing a variety of surgical procedures. Care for patients with a broad range of medical and surgical diagnoses. Perform comprehensive assessments and document patient progress, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the medical record. Monitor vital signs, laboratory results, pain levels, cardiac status, and other clinical indicators. Initiate and maintain IVs and safely manage IV pumps and other medical equipment. Collaborate with physicians, therapists, technicians, nursing assistants, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care. Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatments, procedures, disease management, and discharge instructions. Participate in discharge planning and ensure patients and families understand follow-up care and treatment plans. Provide direction and clinical guidance to LPNs, CNAs, and other support staff. Maintain infection-control, patient-safety, and quality-of-care standards. Demonstrate effective communication, teamwork, compassion, and professionalism when interacting with patients, families, and colleagues. Adapt to changing patient acuity and census while maintaining high standards of care. Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Current Montana Registered Nurse (RN) license. BLS and ACLS certification required; PALS may be required or obtained within the specified period after hire. Medical-Surgical nursing experience preferred. Strong assessment, critical-thinking, IV, medication-administration, and patient-care skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced inpatient environment and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team. #J-18808-Ljbffr
