About This Role

Calvary Chapel Christian Academy is hiring two additional Early Childhood Teachers to complete our Developmental Center team for the 2026–2027 school year.

We are looking for dependable, nurturing, attentive, and professional individuals who enjoy working with young children and understand the importance of consistency, active supervision, classroom structure, and teamwork.

Teachers may work with infants, toddlers, 2-year-olds, 3-year-olds, or preschool-age children depending on experience, classroom needs, and overall fit. This is a hands-on position that includes both developmental learning activities and the daily care routines young children need.

We are currently filling our final two Developmental Center teaching positions and are reviewing qualified applicants immediately.

• Provide attentive, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate care for young children
• Maintain active supervision of children at all times
• Lead and support age-appropriate learning and developmental activities
• Support feeding, diapering, toileting, rest time, outdoor play, and classroom transitions
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and structured classroom environment
• Follow proper hygiene, sanitation, diapering, toileting, and child-safety procedures
• Help children develop communication, social-emotional, self-help, and classroom skills
• Use calm, respectful, and developmentally appropriate behavior guidance
• Monitor children for signs of illness, discomfort, fatigue, developmental concerns, or safety needs
• Maintain required classroom documentation related to meals, naps, toileting, diapering, incidents, and daily care
• Communicate professionally with families, coworkers, and Academy leadership
• Follow staff-to-child ratios, supervision requirements, licensing expectations, and Academy procedures
• Assist with classroom preparation, cleanup, organization, and supplies
• Work collaboratively with lead teachers, assistants, substitutes, and support staff
• Support the Christian mission and values of Calvary Chapel Christian Academy

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Dependable and punctual with consistent attendance
• Patient, nurturing, attentive, and professional with young children
• Comfortable assisting with diapering, toileting, feeding, hygiene, and other direct-care responsibilities
• Able to maintain active supervision throughout the school day
• Able to follow classroom routines, procedures, and directions
• Able to work effectively as part of a team
• Able to communicate respectfully with children, families, coworkers, and leadership
• Willing to work with different early childhood age groups based on classroom needs
• Willing to complete required fingerprinting, background clearances, health requirements, and onboarding
• Willing to complete required Virginia child care training
• Must support and be aligned with the Christian mission and values of Calvary Chapel Christian Academy

• Previous experience in a licensed child care center or preschool
• Experience working with infants, toddlers, 2-year-olds, 3-year-olds, or Pre-K children
• CDA, early childhood credential, or related college coursework
• CPR and First Aid certification
• Knowledge of Virginia child care requirements
• Experience with classroom routines and transitions
• Experience with diapering and toileting procedures
• Experience using positive and developmentally appropriate behavior guidance
• Children's ministry, church nursery, nanny, babysitting, or youth-program experience
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
