This role focuses on operating manual mills and lathes in a busy job shop environment to produce custom parts and perform repair work on oilfield equipment. You will work with a variety of components, using your manual machining expertise to meet precise specifications and support a steady flow of custom orders.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual mills and lathes to produce custom parts according to drawings, specifications, and work orders.
• Perform manual machining operations for both new production and repair work on oilfield equipment.
• Set up manual machines, including selecting tools, adjusting speeds and feeds, and aligning workpieces accurately.
• Inspect finished parts for accuracy, quality, and adherence to tolerances, making adjustments as needed.
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine machining requirements and proper machining sequence.
• Maintain manual machines, tools, and work areas in clean, safe, and reliable working condition.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust setups or tooling to improve quality and efficiency.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritize jobs and meet production and repair deadlines.
• Handle multiple custom and repair jobs in a job shop environment with changing priorities and varying part types.
• Follow all safety procedures and shop policies while working with manual mills, lathes, and related equipment.

• At least 3 years of experience in manual machining.
• Proficiency operating manual lathes.
• Proficiency operating manual mills.
• Ability to perform setup, including tooling selection, workholding, and machine adjustments on manual equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications for machining operations.
• Strong understanding of machining processes, tolerances, and measurement techniques.
• Skill in inspecting parts using appropriate measuring tools to ensure dimensional accuracy.
• Capability to work effectively in a job shop environment with custom and repair work.
• Commitment to following safety procedures while working with manual machine tools.

• Experience working in a repair shop environment, particularly with oilfield equipment.
• Background in machining a variety of materials commonly used in oil and gas applications.
• Ability to handle multiple jobs and shifting priorities in a busy job shop.
• Strong problem-solving skills for diagnosing and correcting machining issues.
• Solid communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors.
• Reliability and willingness to work a full-time schedule including some Saturdays.

Work Environment

This position is based in a job shop, non-climate-controlled repair facility focused on oilfield equipment. You will work primarily on manual mills and lathes in a hands-on, production and repair setting. The schedule runs Monday through Friday and every other Saturday, typically from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The environment is active and fast-paced, with a consistent flow of work and exposure to typical shop conditions such as noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of OKLAHOMA CITY, OK.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in OKLAHOMA CITY,OK.
