Associate Veterinarian - First-Opinion Practice

Location: Clifton, NJ
Employment Type: Full-Time or Part-Time
Setting: Small Animal Primary Care
Schedule :

• Full-time: approximately 40 hours per week

• Typically scheduled across 4-5 days per week

• Part-time candidates may also be considered.

• Some weekend work is required.

• No overnight shifts.

• No evening shifts.

• No on-call responsibilities.

• No nights or after-hours emergency coverage.

Position Overview :

We are seeking an experienced Associate Veterinarian (DVM) to work alongside the Founding Veterinarian and help build a high-quality, relationship-based primary care practice. The ideal candidate is confident providing first-opinion medicine, passionate about preventative care, and comfortable working in a growing environment where they can contribute ideas and help shape clinical protocols and workflows.

Key Responsibilities :

Provide High-Quality Veterinary Care

• Deliver evidence-based first-opinion primary veterinary care.

• Conduct comprehensive wellness and medical examinations.

• Diagnose and manage a variety of routine and complex medical conditions.

• Develop individualized treatment plans based on each patient's needs.

• Champion preventative medicine and long-term patient health.

• Maintain continuity of care and build lasting relationships with clients and their pets.

• Communicate diagnoses, treatment options, and recommendations clearly with pet owners.

• Practice according to established clinical standards and protocols.

• Contribute to a calm, supportive, and high-standard practice culture.

Qualifications :

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine ( DVM ) or equivalent veterinary degree.

• Active New Jersey veterinary license or eligibility for New Jersey licensure.

• Minimum 2-3 years of first-opinion clinical veterinary experience.

• Strong medical and primary-care skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively within a small clinical team.

• Commitment to high-quality, evidence-based veterinary medicine.
