Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Java and Python with a focus on scalability and performance
• Build and maintain SOAP and REST APIs while implementing microservices architecture patterns
• Write optimized SQL queries and analyze existing queries for performance improvements across multiple database platforms
• Support legacy system migration initiatives and maintain existing applications using Perl and other scripting languages
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and manage version control using Git or Subversion in Linux/Unix environments
• Collaborate on ETL processes, data pipelines, and batch processing systems as needed

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience with Java and Python development
• Strong proficiency in SOAP/REST APIs, backend architecture, and microservices design patterns
• 7+ years of experience with SQL and relational databases including SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, or Ingres
• 5+ years of experience writing and optimizing complex SQL queries for performance
• Experience with Git/Subversion, Linux/Unix environments, and version-controlled development workflows
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills across multiple programming languages and environments
• Preferred: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), ETL processes, and CI/CD pipeline implementation
