GENERAL DUTIES

Completes non-teaching projects or complex work in support of a Campus or University administrative or academic department. This work is generally of a temporary nature and requires specialized experience or expertise.

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION

The Office of Health and Human Services (HHS), within the Office of Graduate and Undergraduate Programming at The City University of New York (CUNY) Central Office, supports health professions programs across the University to prepare a large, culturally diverse pool of qualified graduates in areas such as nursing, medicine, physical therapy, public health, medical laboratory technology, dental hygiene, health information management, human services, mental health counseling and social work. CUNY offers over 350 credit-bearing certificates and degree programs in health and human services across 23 campuses, representing close to 40,000 enrolled students. This includes undergraduate and graduate studies as well as professional programs in approximately 60 health and human service disciplines. CUNY offers a School of Medicine, building upon the 50-year history of the Sophie Davis Biomedical Education Program, along with 50+ nursing programs across 13 campuses ranging from Licensed Practical Nursing to doctoral degrees (DNP and PhD). Reporting to the University Dean for Health and Human Services, the Assistant to University Dean will provide administrative, research, and programmatic support for HHS initiatives. The position will also assist with the planning and coordination of the Office’s annual events and sponsored activities. In addition to the CUNY Title Overview information, other key duties include, but will not be limited to the following: Conduct research related to industry developments, surveys, focus groups and emerging workforce trends. Research potential grants and external funding opportunities. Support ongoing HHS initiatives, including the Graduate Genetic Counseling Program. Coordinate and plan logistics for various meetings, programs, and special events including the Annual Simulation Summit. Maintain and update content on the HHS website. Prepare correspondence, presentation, reports, and other program materials. Perform related duties as assigned.

NOTES:

Until further notice, this position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule. This is an hourly position. The selected candidate may work up to 15 hours per week, and no more than 225 hours per semester. The anticipated start date is mid-September 2026.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree required.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

PREFERRED

Master’s Degree in healthcare, public health, health administration or a related field. Experience working in a health care setting. Demonstrated experience conducting research, analyzing information, and summarizing findings. Knowledge of grant funding processes and procedures. Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders University-wide. Strong technology proficiency; including but not limited to utilizing Microsoft Office 365 collaboration tools, Excel, and AI applications to support use in research, communications, and/or administrative work. Familiarity with academic technologies and enterprise applications such as PeopleSoft (CUNfirst, CUNYBUY), Blackboard, D2L, Brightspace, EAB Navigate360, Coursedog, and CRM systems.

COMPENSATION

The hourly rate is $51.94 - $56.21/hr , commensurate with credentials, education, and experience. Effective 9/1/26, salaries of eligible employees will be adjusted by 3.5%, in accordance with the terms of the PSC-CUNY collective bargaining agreement.
