Responsibilities The Mammography Technologist performs specialized examinations of the breast to help in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease in patients. The Mammography Technologist performs a variety of tasks involving the operation of mammographic radiographic equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate. Demonstrates ability to perform advance breast imaging procedures such as stereotactic and MRI biopsies and is competent/proficient with sterile procedures. Provides more complex technical care necessary to meet identified patient needs. What you will do Performs quality screening, diagnostic and other mammography procedures. Reviews all exam requisitions for pertinent information and makes notes on all additional pertinent information. Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all required exams on patients, positioning the patient and equipment, selecting the protocol, technique and utilizing all required equipment. Evaluate images for diagnostic quality, obtaining additional images as needed. Ensures accuracy of each exam by following established procedures and labeling images correctly. Provide Customer Service/Support to patient population. Maintains all required records, reports, and files as required by Federal, State and other regulatory agencies. May be required to demonstrate competence and proficiency in performing all radiological procedures on patients of all age groups. Positions patient, selects the correct protocol, and utilizes all required equipment. Maintains proficiency to perform breast imaging interventional procedures. Acts as a mentor for residents and junior technologists. Ensures department meets all regulatory requirements. Regularly assumes responsibilities and provides direct care for the more complex patients. Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested. Coordinates in the absence of the lead technologists. Ensures the department meets all regulatory requirements. Serves as a preceptor for department. Functions independently with little guidance from manager. Participate in the ACR accreditation process. Assist lead technologists with evaluating staff competencies annually. Qualifications Education Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program Required Work Experience 2 years experience as a Mammography Technologist Required Licenses and Certifications

• R) ARDMS or ARRT - Radiographer Registered Radiologic Technologist in Radiography (R) Upon Hire Required and
• M) ARDMS or ARRT - Mammography Mammography (M) - ARRT Upon Hire Required
