These are performed under the direction of the Nurse Manager, RN Supervisor, RN and/or physician in preparation for the patients examination and treatment. Carries out clinical activities, quality control activities, performance improvement initiatives, etc. in support of the Physician Practice as assigned./ppEssential Job Functions/polliDelivers direct and indirect patient care in accordance with the LPN Practice Act, hospital and/or physician practice policies, procedures, protocols, and other professional standards of care./liliProvides education and instruction, within their scope of practice, to patients and families./liliMaintains collaborative relationship with physicians to achieve desired patient outcomes./liliProvides for patient safety in compliance with hospital and physician practice policies./liliAssists in compliance with all regulatory agency requirements./liliDemonstrates leadership by utilizing the concepts inherent to the practice of the professional nursing./liliAssists in the departments compliance with JCAHO and other regulatory agencies./liliCoordinates communications between patient/families and physician practice, pharmacies, specialists, and insurance carriers./liliSupports performance improvement initiatives with the physician practice./liliMaintains the environment of care./liliPerforms POC testing as ordered by the physician./liliPrepares forms, copies records, and responds to request per policies and procedures./liliAssists in maintaining the patients medical record to facilitate filing and retrieval of information./liliParticipates in all other office functions as necessary./liliPerforms other duties as required./li/olpRequired Qualifications/pulliGraduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing/liliStrong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice./liliStrong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience./li/ulpPreferred Qualifications/pulliPrevious LPN experience./li/ulpLicense, Certification Clearances/pulliCurrent licensure to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Pennsylvania/liliCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) approved curriculum of the American Heart Association (CPR and AED) program./liliAct 33 with renewal/liliAct 34 with renewal/liliAct 73 FBI Clearance/li/ulpSupervisory Responsibilities/pulliThis position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department./li/ulpPosition Type/Expected Hours of Work/pulliIncumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.)./li/ulpLEAN/pulliActively promotes a Lean work culture by performing team member duties to encourage consistent use of LEAN principles and processes, including continually seeking work process improvements.
