Assistant General Manager

Bridgeport, CT | $20–$23/hour

A growing quick-service pizza restaurant concept in Bridgeport is seeking a motivated and energetic Assistant General Manager (AGM) to support daily restaurant operations and help lead a high-performing team.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and is passionate about delivering consistent food quality, excellent service, and operational excellence.

The AGM will partner closely with the General Manager to oversee restaurant performance, develop team members, manage labor and inventory, and ensure compliance with food-safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

Operations

• Assist with daily restaurant operations and shift execution
• Ensure food quality, safety, and brand standards are consistently maintained
• Support the General Manager in achieving sales, labor, and profitability goals
• Ensure proper opening and closing procedures
• Maintain operational excellence across all shifts

Team Leadership

• Supervise Shift Leaders and team members
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training
• Coach employees and provide ongoing feedback
• Support a positive, productive, and accountable team environment
• Address employee concerns and escalate issues when appropriate

Labor & Scheduling

• Assist with team scheduling and staffing
• Monitor labor costs and productivity
• Ensure accurate timekeeping and attendance practices
• Support labor-management strategies and operational goals

Food Safety & Compliance

• Maintain compliance with food-safety, sanitation, and health regulations
• Ensure proper food handling and storage procedures
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the restaurant
• Support audit and inspection readiness

Inventory & Cost Control

• Assist with inventory management and product ordering
• Monitor waste and support food-cost control
• Maintain accurate inventory records

Guest Experience

• Ensure fast, friendly, and professional service
• Resolve guest concerns quickly and professionally
• Promote a welcoming and positive restaurant environment

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of restaurant or food-service leadership experience preferred
• Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred
• Strong leadership, coaching, and team-development skills
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment
• Basic understanding of restaurant financials and labor management
• Strong ability to multitask and prioritize

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays
