Head of FP&A NGV US

Job PurposeWe’re looking for an experienced Head of FP&A, NGV US to join our NGV US Finance team! The Head of FP&A, NGV US owns financial planning, reporting, forecasting, and portfolio analytics across the NGV US portfolio to help the NGV US business and its leadership team deliver their financial and strategic objectives. The role serves as the central point for consolidating financial performance and forecasts across a diverse portfolio of operating and development-stage businesses, translating complex financial information into concise, insightful, and actionable commentary for executive leadership. NGV US delivers ~$50-75M p.a. of operating profit from its operational businesses and manages a multi-year capital program of over $10B across its range of growth opportunities.This is role based out of our Waltham or Brooklyn office. We’d hope to see you in the office at least two days per week, with flexibility to discuss working patterns that help the role work effectively for you and the team.What You'll DoAccountable for consolidated monthly management reporting, including metrics, dashboards and analytics to support storytelling and decision making.Deliver concise, executive-level strategic insights and clear business narratives explaining drivers of performance.Ensure reporting deadlines are met, and outputs meet the highest standards of quality and accuracy.Own the quarterly and annual planning and forecasting processes across NGV US, ensuring timely and accurate completion while adhering to Group instructions and stakeholder engagement requirements.Identify emerging risks and opportunities impacting financial performance and establish a “safe to say” culture where all members of the FP&A team contribute to the identification of risks and opportunities.Develop an understanding of how each NGV US business and project creates value and generates returns.Lead, manage, develop, and mentor the NGV US FP&A team including two managers and four analystsCo-lead finance transformation initiatives, standardization efforts, and advanced analytics that improve speed, quality, and insight generation while building scalable processes that support portfolio growth.Promote a culture of performance, collaboration, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.Support impairment assessments, modelling, and audits as required.Serve as the primary interface between NGV US FP&A and National Grid’s central FP&A team in the UKWhat You'll Have10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience.Significant experience in portfolio management, corporate finance, FP&A, or strategic planning within infrastructure, energy, utilities, private equity-backed, or capital-intensive businesses.Experience leading budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes within a complex, multi-business environment.Demonstrated success managing and developing high-performing finance teams.Strong background in IFRS and fluency in financial statements forecasting.Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen.Demonstrated understanding of how businesses generate revenue, manage costs, and create shareholder value.Ability to connect operational, commercial, and financial performance drivers.Excellent change leadership and transformation capability.Exceptional communication and storytelling skills with ability to simplify complex issues into actionable decisions.Comfortable in a matrixed, international environment.Don’t meet every single requirement?
