Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense.What You Will Do:The Senior Tool Designer will actively maintain and improve knowledge of tool design, machines, engineering standards, procedures, new technology (materials, hydraulic and/or pneumatic clamping, ) through training and education.Provide engineering consultation on manufacturing processes, possible tooling and gaging requirements, and cost/delivery analysisWork primarily on fixtures for manufacturing, work holding, special tools used in machining and assemblyDevelop and implement cost reduction programs consistent with Lean Manufacturing principalsLead or participate in cross functional project teams designed to introduce new products, improve existing products, better our manufacturing process or, advance our competitive advantage in the marketplaceDetermine practical approach to determining tolerance as it relates to manufacturing process requirementsProvide estimate for the number of hours to design, process, and manufacture and inspect tooling components to support all facets of final product deliveryEvaluate equipment and process needed to complete workUse computerized design and computer aided engineering tools to perform job dutiesKnowledge base of various materialsQualifications You Must Have:Bachelor’s degree and 8 or more years of experience in an aerospace, engineering, manufacturing, or tool room environment OR an Associate's degree and 10 or more years experience in an an aerospace, engineering, manufacturing, or tool room environmentIn absence of a degree, High School diploma/GED or equivalent and 12 or more years of experience in an an aerospace, engineering, manufacturing, or tool room environmentExperience in design of aerospace tooling, fixture gagesProficiency in NX design softwarePrevious Tool Die and Gage experienceProficiency with Microsoft Office productsLearn More & Apply Now:Please ensure the role type defined below is appropriate for your needs before applying to this role. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
