Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Hyatt is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to support enterprise-scale commercial, digital, and guest-facing applications across its Global Technology organization. This is not a traditional QA Analyst position. Hyatt is looking for an Automation Engineer first and a Tester second. The ideal candidate will operate as part of the engineering organization and will be expected to design, build, maintain, and improve enterprise automation frameworks while partnering directly with Software Engineers, Product Owners, Architects, and Delivery teams. This role sits at the intersection of: Java Development + Automation Engineering + API Testing + CI/CD + Enterprise Quality Engineering.

Hyatt wants a true Java Automation Engineer with strong framework development experience. The ideal profile is: • 70-80% Automation Engineering • 20-30% Manual Testing and UAT Support Candidates should be comfortable: • Writing production-quality Java code • Building automation frameworks from scratch • Performing API automation • Supporting CI/CD pipelines • Troubleshooting production issues • Mentoring junior SDETs • Working directly with developers and product teams.
