Role Description: The Dining Room Manager is responsible for managing food and beverage service of food and beverage operations for member events, private events, meetings, and regular ala carte dining. The Dining Room Manager should manage staff to ensure all standards of service are met and exceeded. They must implement exceptional service, anticipate needs, exceed expectations, and build relationships. They will also maintain order and cleanliness to ensure that member satisfaction standards are consistently attained. The Dining Room Manager must be independent, energetic, and personable individual with a passion for customer service. Job Knowledge, Core Competencies, and Expectations: Maintains a high level of member contact throughout service hours. Responsible for management of dining room service in various outlets. Good organizational and follow-through skills Ability to demonstrate proper wine service Ability to demonstrate proper steps of service Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergencies. Job Tasks/Duties Suggests and describes available appetizers, entrees, desserts, alcoholic beverages and wines to members and guests. Coordinates food service between kitchen and service staff. Assures that revenue control procedures are continually followed. Selects, trains, supervises, and evaluates service staff. Inspect dining room daily to ensure proper maintenance, appearance, cleanliness, and safety. Assures that pre-opening and closing cleaning tasks are assigned and completed as required. Manages the guest reservation system and a waiting list, if necessary. Assists with service of food and beverages in outlets and for special functions when needed. Assists with table clearing and re-setting as needed. Suggests when additional service supplies and small equipment are needed. Enforces established rules, regulations, and policies. Serves as the Club's opening and/or closing manager or manager on duty. Assists in inventory and assessments. Assures that local and state laws and the club's policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages are consistently followed. Designs floor plans according to reservations. Takes reservations, checks table reservation schedules and maintains reservations log. Greet and seat members and guests. Inspect dining room employees to ensure that they are always in proper and clean uniforms. Performs daily POS closeout and produces daily reports from point of sale (POS) systems used in the dining room Receives and resolves complaints concerning dining room service and communicates these to Food and Beverage Manager. Serves as liaison between the dining room and kitchen staff. Assures that all side-work is accomplished and that all cleaning of equipment and storage areas is completed according to schedule. Direct pre-service line-ups with dining room personnel; relays pertinent information such as house count and menu changes, special member requests, etc. Trains staff in all aspects of the POS system. Assures that the dining room and other club areas are secure at the end of the business day. Performs other appropriate assignments and projects as required by the Food and Beverage Manager. Education/Experience: High school education or equivalent Minimum of one year of dining room supervisory experience in private club.
