Staff Accountant

Milestone Chassis Company is seeking a detail‑oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing accounting team. This newly created role supports core accounting functions including revenue recognition, general ledger activities, billing, sales tax reporting, and audit support. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial records and timely reporting while gaining broad exposure across accounting operations. Revenue & Billing Review and reconcile customer billing to the general ledger on a monthly basis Calculate and record journal entries related to revenue recognition in accordance with company policy Process customer invoices on a semi‑monthly basis Process customer credit memos and adjustments Manage special billing customers, including invoice preparation and uploading documentation to customer portals General Ledger & Accounting Operations Prepare and post journal entries and supporting schedules Assist with monthly close activities related to assigned areas Perform account reconciliations and research variances as needed Leasing & Technical Accounting Prepare ASC 842 lease accounting analysis and supporting documentation Maintain schedules related to lease activity and assist with updates as required Sales Tax & Compliance Support Maintain sales tax tables within the ERP system Review customer sales tax exemption certificates and update taxability status Prepare reports and supporting documentation used for sales and use tax filings Audit & Expense Management Audit employee expense reports for policy compliance Respond to audit requests and assist with preparation of schedules and disclosures related to assigned responsibilities Qualifications: 1+ year of accounting experience or a strong internship with hands‑on general ledger exposure Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance Experience working in an ERP environment; Microsoft Dynamics NAV preferred Solid understanding of basic accounting principles Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment Strong organizational and communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Excel Milestone Chassis Company offers a competitive benefits package to eligible employees, which includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, employer-sponsored retirement benefits, paid time off, paid holidays, and other company-sponsored benefits.
