Currency Operations Lead

What we do: The Federal Reserve Bank of New York Cash Function has a long history of innovation and leadership as a high-volume processor of U.S. Banknotes. The facility utilizes state-of-the-art automation to support operations and controls. The Cash Function facilitates payments, receipts and processing of currency/coin to and from depository institutions (DIs), central banks and other governmental counterparties. The New York Fed is seeking a Currency Operations Lead with capability in operations management, process improvement, project management, and risk/ compliance management. The successful candidate should have strong experience in a supply chain operation within a highly regulated industry. This role is onsite and located in East Rutherford. New Jersey Your role as Currency Services Operations Lead Supervise direct reports in the facilitation of payments, receipts and processing of currency/coin to and from depository institutions (DIs), central banks and other governmental counterparties. Plans, coordinates, schedules, and assists in the oversight of all resources and activities regarding daily operations. Compile reports and monitor metrics to ensure operational performance and control objectives meet high standards. Exercise agility by thinking strategically, executing tactically, and collaborating across diverse teams, levels, and situations. Support a business resiliency model centered on continuity and capacity building. Participate in system workgroups and support projects within the district. Research, clarify, and resolve routine operational problems across multiple work processes Foster a culture of innovation, by encouraging different perspectives and innovative approaches while ensuring team members feel valued and respected. Proactively support operation staff development by providing guidance and coaching Maintain strong controls in a heavily regulated environment to enable adherence to risk management requirements What we are looking for: Operations management or related discipline and/or significantly demonstrated experience required Operations management skills and ability to maintain business controls Demonstrated leadership skills including the ability to think strategically and lead change Experienced understanding of business line and of specialized discipline and an understanding of the overall Bank.
