The Language Banc (TLB), a Piedmont Global company, offers flexible, on-call opportunities for independent contractors. We are currently seeking qualified Spanish interpreters for on-site interpretation assignments in Hutchins, Wisconsin, to provide in-person language services.

This is a 1099 independent contractor position for on-site interpretation (OSI) services.

Interpreter Responsibilities:

• Facilitate effective communication by accurately interpreting spoken language between parties.
  
• Convey messages clearly and completely, without omissions or additions, while preserving the original meaning, tone, and context.
  
• Provide sight translation of written materials as needed.
  
• Adhere to the Interpreter Code of Ethics, Standards of Practice, and HIPAA confidentiality requirements.
  
• Serve as a cultural liaison when appropriate to help parties achieve mutual understanding.
  

Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED.
- Native fluency in English and Spanish. - Prior interpreting experience and knowledge of medical terminology.
- Completion of a 40-hour accredited interpreter training (e.g., Bridging the Gap, The Community Interpreter training).
- Reliable transportation, insurance, and access to a mobile phone and computer. - Up-to-date immunization records and ability to pass a criminal background check.

National Certification (CCHI/CMI or NBCMI) is desired but not required.
