Job Description:

Be a caring individual to fill in as needed for school building nurses during their time of absences(s). Must maintain a professional relationship with staff, students, and parents while preserving confidentiality of ALL medical information.


Hourly salary: RN $23.29; LPN $20.00

Job Requirements:

• Oversee medical care of students for the building to which you are subbing for
• Provide acute care for identified students
• Keep documentation of student care
• Provide basic first aid for students and staff
• Follow physician orders while caring for students
• Contact parents as needed
• Complete accident reports when needed on students/staff when injuries occur
• Follow written school policies for administration of prescribed and over the counter medications
• Administer routine, PRN and emergency medications and maintain records of all medications given
• Follow school policies for identifying and reporting suspected child abuse
• Examine and identify students with communicable diseases
• Carry and answer radio (communciation device) calls as needed
• Perform focused assessments based on student or staff complaint
• Contact EMS when appropriate
• Lifting required at times as well as bending and standing

Job Qualifications:

RN or LPN with current Indiana licensure and CPR certification
