Registered Nurse II - Medical/Surgical/Telemetry

Job Overview

A Registered Nurse (RN II) is needed for a Medical/Surgical/Telemetry unit. This position involves providing comprehensive nursing care in a telemetry environment while managing patient needs related to a range of diagnoses.

Responsibilities

Deliver nursing care to patients in accordance with established protocols.
Interpret telemetry strips and document findings as required.
Collaborate with healthcare teams to manage and coordinate patient care.
Participate in the administration of medications and IV therapies.
Assist in the orientation and training of new staff members.
Float to other units as needed, ensuring versatility in skill utilization.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a telemetry or acute care setting.
Current certifications in ACLS and BLS.
Ability to read and interpret basic telemetry strips.
Experience with patients suffering from CHF, COVID, respiratory issues, GI complications, diabetes, post catheterization, and total joint replacement.
Cerner experience is recommended for efficient orientation.
Must be able to pass a dysrhythmia exam within two attempts prior to signing a contract.

Shift Details

Night shift position with a shift length of 12 hours.
Guaranteed 36 hours per week.
Rotation for every other weekend and holiday requirements for major holidays.

Additional Information

This unit consists of 49 beds with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5.
Support staff includes Nurse Aides, Respiratory Therapists, and telemetry technicians.
Self-scheduling is utilized, though final schedules will be managed by nursing leadership.
Uniform Code: Navy Blue scrubs are required.
