Senior Propulsion Engineer

Position Overview Senior Propulsion Engineer – The Boeing Company. Location: Redmond, Washington. Lead Propulsion Engineer to support key suppliers for the Starliner program, providing liaison support between suppliers and Boeing Starliner propulsion teams to expedite technical solutions in coordination with the Boeing supplier program manager. Position Responsibilities Define requirements for propulsion systems, auxiliary power systems, vehicle fuel and tank systems. Coordinate and control functional and physical interfaces between the propulsion system and the vehicle. Develop specifications, architectural and configuration concepts for associated vehicle systems to meet customer and regulatory requirements. Configure and design propulsion sub‑systems and components to meet all vehicle design and performance criteria. Use testing, analysis, modeling and simulation tools to estimate or calculate system performance. Define and perform certification tests for propulsion sub‑systems and components. Support fielded systems by developing responses to customer queries and providing technical recommendations. Develop concepts for future propulsion systems to meet anticipated requirements. Basic Qualifications (Required) Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or non‑US equivalent directly related to the work statement. Experience in the design, development and integration of spaceflight propulsion systems. Previous experience with component qualification test campaigns and system certification supporting NASA programs. Preferred Qualifications (Desired) 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Matlab proficiency. Transient analysis capability. Subsystem test design, execution and analysis experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of management, customers and partners. Experience gaining trust of team and stakeholders. Previous launch vehicle manufacturing experience. Contractual & Compliance Must be a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 / §120.62 to meet export control compliance requirements. Position is 100% onsite at a Boeing Supplier facility.
