Director Of Tax Advisory Services

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer of Siegfried Advisory, the Director of Tax Advisory Services is responsible for the successful management and growth of Siegfried Advisory's Tax Advisory Services (TAS) practice.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience working with entrepreneurial and emerging growth companies, family offices and high-net-worth individuals and their portfolios.

This role serves as a trusted advisor to high-value clients—entrepreneurs, executives, and family offices—delivering tailored tax planning, compliance, and wealth strategies. The Director oversees engagement delivery, ensuring technical excellence, operational efficiency, and high-touch client experience.

This high-impact leadership role is ideally based in Philadelphia, PA where the Firm is building a strong, connected presence. We are open to considering New York Metro- or Wilmington, DE-based candidates. Successful candidates should be willing to travel among the three offices as needed.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position is responsible for the supervision, management and development of the Tax Advisory Services team members.

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities

Client Delivery/Practice Leadership

  • Own end-to-end client service delivery across the TAS portfolio, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and a high-touch client experience. Responsible for the management of practice performance.
  • Serve as a senior advisor to key clients, delivering integrated tax strategies across planning, compliance, and wealth considerations
  • Direct the execution of the TAS strategy, aligning team priorities, client service model, and growth objectives with Firm leadership
  • Lead the delivery of complex tax advisory services to entrepreneurial businesses, founders, executives, and family offices, including performing client service delivery work
  • Excellent technical knowledge, experience and expertise in relevant tax areas to provide coaching, guidance and training to team

Business Development/Growth

  • Drive business development and client expansion, including originating new opportunities, deepening existing relationships, and expanding the TAS portfolio
  • Manage team performance and mentor staff
  • Leverage innovation through technology, by collaborating with Firm leadership on financial planning and client development
  • Assist in business development activities

Economics/Performance

  • Own engagement and portfolio performance, including realization, utilization, pricing, and profitability
  • Proactively identify and execute opportunities to improve efficiency, expand scope, and enhance client value
  • Partner with leadership on engagement structuring, pricing, and billing strategies

Firm Leadership/Operating Discipline

  • Serves on the Siegfried Advisory Leadership Team
  • Collaborate with (Siegfried Advisory Leadership Team) SALT and Finance on forecasting, capacity planning, and resource alignment
  • Ensure consistent execution of Firm standards, including risk management, quality control, and compliance protocols
  • Leverage technology and data insights to modernize delivery, improve workflows, and enhance decision-making

People Leadership

  • Build, develop, and retain a high-performing tax team, with clear expectations and accountability
  • Coach and develop high-potential talent, building a sustainable leadership pipeline
  • Champion a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Required Qualifications
  • 15+ years of progressive tax experience, including ownership of complex client portfolios serving high-net-worth individuals, closely held businesses, and multi-entity structures
  • Proven experience serving entrepreneurs, venture-backed companies, founders, executives, and family offices
  • Demonstrated ability to own and grow client relationships, consistently delivering high-quality work in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
  • Deep technical expertise across federal, state, and local tax, including individuals, partnerships, trusts, and S corporations
  • Advanced capability in tax strategy and structuring, including deferred compensation, entity structuring, and business transactions
  • Familiarity with sales and use tax compliance
  • Experience operating in public accounting, advisory, or entrepreneurial environments with a strong commercial mindset
  • Track record of driving business development and expanding client portfolios through new opportunities and relationship growth
  • Proven ownership and accountability for engagement economics, including pricing, realization, utilization, and profitability management
  • Demonstrated success leading, developing, and retaining high-performing teams, with a focus on accountability, coaching, and building future leaders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to apply sound judgment in complex and evolving tax situations
  • Ability to build trust and credibility across stakeholders and advise both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior executives and business owners
  • Clear, concise, and confident communicator, able to translate complex tax matters into actionable insights
  • Leadership presence and judgment to set direction, align teams, remove barriers, and drive execution
  • Demonstrated ability to set expectations, enforce accountability, and build a high-performing team environment with collaboration and continuous improvement
  • Availability to work nights and weekends, as needed

  • A minimum of 20% travel required, as applicable or requested
  • Ability to work nine to ten hours per day consistently throughout the year
  • Ability and willingness to work in a SA office as requested, in accordance with company policy
  • Ability and willingness to work in a SA office as required for an average of four days per week (or more) in accordance with SA's then-current policy. (This requirement is subject to change at the discretion of management)
