Respiratory Therapy Supervisor

Join a dynamic healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest as a Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, where you will lead and oversee respiratory care services to ensure exceptional patient outcomes and compliance with healthcare standards. This role involves managing clinical operations, guiding therapy treatments, and fostering a collaborative environment among staff and interdisciplinary teams.

Job Summary

As a Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, you will direct personnel and activities to deliver timely, high-quality respiratory care. You will develop and improve therapy programs, monitor patient progress, and ensure adherence to policies and regulatory requirements. Your leadership will be key in managing resources, training staff, and advancing clinical services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of respiratory therapy protocols and programs.
  • Manage clinical operations to guarantee safe and effective patient care.
  • Interpret diagnostic tests and develop treatment plans in collaboration with healthcare providers.
  • Perform pulmonary function tests and administer advanced respiratory therapies including mechanical ventilation and airway management.
  • Evaluate patient responses and adjust therapy plans accordingly.
  • Participate in discharge planning and ensure continuity of care.
  • Maintain and inspect respiratory equipment for safety and efficiency.
  • Recruit, train, and evaluate respiratory therapy staff, fostering professional growth.
  • Contribute to budget planning and departmental reporting.
  • Support innovation and strategic initiatives within the department.

Education and Experience

  • Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
  • Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three years acute care respiratory experience; leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience in emergency, inpatient, and outpatient settings is advantageous.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Current, unrestricted Respiratory Therapy License for Washington State.
  • Valid BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to build effective partnerships with providers, patients, and team members.
  • Proficiency with technology including electronic medical records and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently with sound judgment and organizational skills.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This full-time exempt position involves a mix of sitting, standing, walking, and occasional lifting of equipment and supplies. The role requires normal vision, hearing, and speech capabilities, with exposure to bloodborne pathogens managed through safety protocols.
